One of the hardest decisions during the summer in Tahoe is deciding what beach to head to for the day. The biggest factor when making a decision is how you plan on getting there. Do you want to park right next to the beach, hike a few mile, or can you get there by water via boat, jet ski, or paddle?
1. Sand Harbor
The biggest, best, but also the busiest beach in Lake Tahoe. Sand Harbor offers the biggest all sand beach along with a boat launch, bar and grill, and outdoor theater. Sand Harbor is also our main launch for jet ski rentals and we meet you right on the dock. While it is highly recommended to spend at least a day at Sand Harbor be sure to get there early as the parking lot closes early on busy days.
2. Hidden Beach
This beach is not as hidden as you would think. There is great access from the east shore bike path or drop off points on the road. This beach is dog friendly! On any given day there are plenty of boats anchored up and the water is fairly shallow making it a great spot to jump in and cool off.
3. Secret Cove
Up and til recently this was the go to nude beach in Tahoe (although not sure anyone follows the rules). The beach is accessible via a short hike down and just past the clothing required and just as renowned Chimney Beach. This is a great beach to access via jet ski or boat as it is hard to get parking on busy days.
